Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, yet rarely do we acknowledge the loveliness of imperfection.That is why, with Mother’s Day around the corner, Modern Love wants to pay homage to the changing shape of the female form, when nature, and not a doctor (as is so often the case), brings about those reminders of a life well lived.
Inevitably, when a woman gives birth, her body changes. Some of those transformations are as subtle as the texture of her hair (many women report that theirs gets curlier or straighter) and others are quite dramatic (breasts have been known to change addresses, moving permanently south regardless of the season). Many accept their new bodies with delight and pride, but others feel shame at the loss of what they perceive was their sexier selves.
